Knights of the Pythias Block

This used to be called the Knights of the Pythias Blocks. Its name was changed to Wallace Block, after the previous owner. Now, it is the home of Bread Milk and Honey, a beloved local coffee shop and a great space to sit down with friends. This block is named after The Order of Knights of Pythias, a fraternal order established in 1864. The order shared the space with other local organizations and churches as well. In the 1930s, it was used by Bernadette Fisher’s School of Dance. In addition to the dance school, the hall was also used as a dance hall on weekends. Robert W. Wallace came to Lethbridge in 1897 and was the owner of the building with his brother as they ran their ranching operation and tobacco business.
