Lethbridge Post Office Building

Aside from the Highlevel Bridge, The Lethbridge Post Office Building is one of Lethbridge’s most iconic landmarks. This Building is on the corner of 4th Ave and 7th Street. The Lethbridge Post Office was opened in 1914, nine years after Alberta became a province of Canada. This style of building was used as a reminder of Canada’s authority and a transition from frontier settlement to a modern, urban centre. The size of the building was large for what Lethbridge was at the time as a small town. This shows the ambitions of Lethbridge’s founders, allowing us to become the city we are today.
